Remote WMI doesn't return all the disk info RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm having an issue with a server running Windows Server 2012 in a domain where monitoring suddenly failed on the E-drive.

    Running:

get-WmiObject win32_logicaldisk -computername "servername" from a remote server returns:

    DeviceID     : C:
    DriveType    : 3
    ProviderName :
    FreeSpace    : 34546839552
    Size         : 53317988352
    VolumeName   :

    DeviceID     : D:
    DriveType    : 5
    ProviderName :
    FreeSpace    :
    Size         :
    VolumeName   :

    DeviceID     : E:
    DriveType    : 3
    ProviderName :
    FreeSpace    :
    Size         :
    VolumeName   :

But when running the command from the local server The E drive data is populated.

As far as I know WMI doesn't provide that much granularity in respect to permissions.

I've rebuild/checked WMI although I didn't expect anything out of it and indeed it didn't help.

sfc /scannow doesn't find anything either..

    Any other ideas?
