My server is stuck on an update error RRS feed

  • Question

  • hey everyone,

im having a problem with one of my servers.

its a 2012 r2 server and we had couple of updates waiting so i decided to restart it and let the updates run.

it got stuck on one error and whatever i do i cant seem to fix the problem (safe mode gets stuck on the same error).

Fair to mention that the server is far away from me so ill need to fix this remotely and everything ive tried to do according to what i  found on the internet did not work.

can someone help me please ?

    Best Regards

  • Consider Safe mode.

Hit F8 before the Windows Flag screen on boot up, choose "Safe Mode" and at that point, Windows will recover, finish configuring, reboot on its own, and come back again.

  • Hi,

Also, you could try to perform a clean boot then check the issue:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-sg/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

If the issue still persists, please repair with an in-place upgrade.
