I already found the last four *.mum files at your storage (link above). But the other files are missing.

Further I can't add or remove roles/features, I'm unable to install SP2 and further minor updates.

    Thanks for help,
    Christoph

  • Hi,

Now I have uploaded all KB967723 packages. Please download hotfix.rar, extract it and extract the files to C:\Windows\servicing\Packages.

  • Hi,
    the same problem.

Your instruction to extract files to C:\Windows\servicing\Packages is not so simple. Seems usual admin don't have permissions on this folder...

I use Windows Server Web SP2 via Remote Desktop. Only user TrustedInstaller can modify files in C:\Windows\servicing\Packages. I know about possibilities to change files ownr but also know that this may cause problems.

Please describe in steps how to do this extraction/copying in the most safer way.

  • Hi Tim,

That hotfix.rar did the trick. I was able to finish installing the update and can know manage roles and feature.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Tim,

we had been busy, so i tried to download the hotfix for the issue christoph had reported. Currently i'm not able to download the file. I got the following message

No workspace was found corresponding to the supplied password. The password or web page address (URL) may be incorrect. Please verify the password with a Microsoft Support Professional.

Could you provide me the hotfix again?

    Thank you,

  • Tim,

I have been searching for a whole week to find a resolution to this problem (I've tried everything posted in most forums after following MS advise) and it appears that you may have the answer. I HOPE!!!

However, The hotfix.zip file is no longer in the above folder.

Would you be so kind as to re-post it so I and others can download the package files.

This problem is preventing most security updates and SP2 install.

Anything you can do to help will be most appreciated.

  • Tim,

I have the same problem. I could extract all missing files with the method above (from the x64 package) except
    Package_for_KB967723~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.0.1.7.mum

Where can I find this file?

From another site I found instrutions on how to download and manually extract the files in KB967723.  I was able to copy the first three to C:\Windows\servicing\Packages (I had to rename them from beginning with a 'package...' to 'Package...".  The fourth file, Package_for_KB967723~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.0.1.7.mum, wasn't in the temp folder that I created.

Where can I get this file?  Also, how can I run the CheckSUR tools again to see if anything else is missing?  When I try to download and reinstall it, the installation fails wth no error messages other than "Failed to install".

  • I have a similar problem to this.  I would like to add Terminal Services role; however I cannot even view the installed roles via Server Manager.  I have run the System Update Readiness Tool but it did not find any problems.  I am not sure where to go from here.  Any help would be much appreciated.
