Problems with IPad OS 13 RRS feed

  • Question

  • The problem with not being able to enter usernames/passwords is specific to iPadOS 13 and not all iOS 13 Devices.

I have verified all functions on my iPad and my iPhone and it only occurs with the username field on the iPad.

  • We are having this issue at my workplace as well. The problem is, you can never "touch" or "click" in the Username field. You can tap the Password field, type in that field, and if you have a keyboard attached, try and hold SHIFT + TAB, the cursor moves from the Password field, to nowhere, hit SHIFT + TAB again, and the cursor is back in the Password field.

This is a bug with the latest iOS 13.1.2 and Remote Desktop 8.1.42 combination. We noticed it on an iPad the other day. Tried reinstalling the app multiple times, didn't fix.

We took an iPad that was working (not sure iOS version), upgraded to 13.1.2, and the problem started happening.

  • Same issue!  Very annoying...we have so many users that have no updated to iPad OS 13.1.2 and are now unable to enter username - so basically, the app is completely unusable.  PLEASE FIX ASAP.

  • So I noticed that when you click in the space and type the “Save” button lights up. I typed my username. It just doesn’t show a cursor or text. So I typed my credentials into ia note. Copy and paste........BOOM.......!......Now Microsoft fix it so it works right. I deleted all my configuration dealing with this!

  • It IS working. You just have no visual whatsoever. So click on new user, when the keyboard appears just type in your credentials (make sure not to make any mistakes as you cant see what you are typing) then click on password and type in your password. After that, just click save and the username will appears on the previous window. It is now all set up. Just connect to your RDP and it works.

This is how we are working around the issue for now at our company.  Hopefully a permanent fix is coming for the app.  We just got new Ipad Pros and we need to use RD for one of our company initiatives.  It is an important use in our department specifically.  The workaround at least keeps us running but a permanent solution from Microsoft would be most welcome.
