Renaming DHCP Scope RRS feed

  • Question

  • The company i work for has changed the names of almost all its sites and my manager would like the scopes to be renamed. I was wondering if there would be any adverse effects to renaming it. Here is a example one facility used to be called MDMC now its called CCE would changing just that effect anything?

  • Hi Taylor,

    Thank you for your post,

No it won't effect the functionality of your DHCP server, The Scope name is just for easy recognition label, You can rename it with out any issues.

Please reply back if you need any further information on this.

  • The name of the scope is just a simple label.  There is no problem in renaming the scopes.  It will not affect the leases.
