Hi,
Use Rufus to create bootable USB which can be used in UEFI. Choose File System NTFS and partition scheme UEFI and it will work. I did it many times

Hi ,
The below is a reference link about installing Windows Server 2016 in UEFI Mode manually released by DELL. Considering you are running a DELL machine, I think it should be helpful for you.

But you know what? He's kinda right. Rufus will NOT create a FATS32 and an NTFS partition like that. It will create one partition on the drive. If its NTFS, it won;t boot. Its its FAT32, the WIM won't copy.Thursday, November 16, 2017 9:02 PM

Create two partitions, FAT32 to boot, and a large NTFS to copy the WIM.

Need to split the install.wim file.
Here are the steps I use - with an 'elevated command prompt'
diskpart
list disk
select disk 2 <- select the right disk for your USB drive
clean <- because this step will wipe it out
convert gpt
create partition primary
format fs=fat32 quick
select part 1
assign letter = k
exitLocate your install .iso file.... I put mine in c:\iso
Mount c:\iso\windows2016.iso <- my command will usually mount the .iso file as drive F:I used windows file manager to copy everything from the mounted iso image (drive F:) to the USB. Notice you will get an error on the 'install.wim' file - just select 'skip' - you will get this file with the step below. I have always used the 'CTRL-A' for 'select all' to be sure I get every file on the image. Then use copy and paste.
dism /Split-Image /ImageFile:f:\sources\install.wim /SWMFile:k:\sources\install.swm /FileSize:4095' the above command will split the image file into smaller portions for the fat32 partition.
' I used 4095 just to stay below the 4096 maximum file size. Works for me!!- Edited by James Rich Saturday, February 17, 2018 12:34 AM

Rufus won't split the .wim file - so it won't work on these larger images.Saturday, February 17, 2018 1:26 AM

I tried rufus with Windows Server 2016. The BIOS would not boot the USB in UEFI mode. I tried this method. It worked.Thursday, October 25, 2018 10:47 PM

Just doing a test install of Windows 2016 on VMware Workstation doing a boot off the ISO with UEFI. It won't boot but is fine with BIOS. Does Windows 2016 not support UEFI out-the-box? Not going to loose any sleep over it, just curious. Kind of expected an OS release in 2016 to support UEFI.Saturday, November 16, 2019 3:40 PM

I did a test build just now. It would not boot the ISO when I told VMware Workstation it was Server 2016. If you go to Settings -> Options -> Guest operating system, Version and tell VMware you are using Server 2012 then it will boot to the Server 2016 ISO. I did verify this by going to BIOS options upon boot and checked that it was booting EFI to the CD ROM drive.
