Remove Main Logon Screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to remove the main Windows Server Logon Screen to turn it into somthing like the Windows Server 2003 Classic Logon? Ie I want to get rid of the blue welcome screen for my own background. Is there a way to do this? I've tried googleing' but no luck there.

    Thanks in advance

There was a discussion related to this topic a few months back.
The information here shows you how to

    • Disable showing the user name of the last successful logo
    • Require Ctrl, Alt & Del (which is on by default in Windows Server 2008 in contrast to Windows Vista)

While this doesn't revert the logon screen back to Windows Server 2003 completely it's the closest you'll come to using the classic logon screen.

There is no supported way to do this.
