Windows SBS 2003 CDs Missing

    Question

  • I have a server installed with Windows SBS 2003, which is reporting imminent failure. Im suspecting it might crash at anytime. I have taken a full system backup using NT Backup. But I cannot find my SBS CDs. I have also copied out and printed the additional CALs installed on the server using Server Management tool, but cant find the initial CD that has the 5 CAL licences, though I used Balarc Advisor software to retrieve the licence.
What can I do if I need to reinstall the OS on the server?

I also want to find out if the backup I did will restore all the programs, Active Directory settings, Exchange settings, etc on the server when restored. The backup option I used was to Backup everything on the computer.

    Thanks for your advice.

  • Hi Amas_Essien,

If you have take the full system including data and system settings with ASR, you can try to restore them in the event of system crash. The license information should be also there.

    Hope it helps.
