Unable to Connect to Windows Server 2012 Core using Server Manager (From Windows 7) RRS feed

  • I installed Windows Server 2012 Core Data Center. I enabled Remote Management through sconfig. I am able to TS into the Core Server But not able to manage the core using Server Manager or MMC Server Manger Snapin.

    I get the following Error while I attempt to connect using MMC or ServerManager,

    [Main Instruction]
    Server Manager cannot connect to SERVERNAME. Click Retry to
    try to connect again.
    [Expanded Information]
    Connecting to remote server failed with the following error
    message : The WS-Management service cannot process the request. The resource
    URI ( was not
    found in the WS-Management catalog. The catalog contains the metadata that
    describes resources, or logical endpoints. For more information, see the

    When I try

    Enable-NetFirewallRule -DisplayGroup "Remote Administration"

    on PowerShell, this is the error I get,

    Enable-NetFirewallRule : No MSFT_NetFirewallRule objects
    found with property 'DisplayGroup' equal to 'Remote
    Verify the value of the property and retry.

    My Laptop runs Windows 7 , I tried installing Windows6.1-KB2682011-x64.msu.  Am I missing something?
