Trust relashioship error in server... RRS feed

  • Hi

    One of our customer IT Admin he tried to add one Server 2008 R2 Server to an Existing DC (2008 R2)and ADC (2008 R2).I think he might have added that server as read only it was successful and restarted . After restart he couldn't able login error is getting "trust relationship failed", Even we tried to login as local administrator also. When we are trying local administrator username password error showing.

    In this scenario what we can do......

     First check the replication status with "repadmin /replsum", "ipconfig /all" then paste results on OneDrive..

     First check the replication status with "repadmin /replsum"....and also check this hotfix for server 2008 r2,

    Otherwise try reset Computer Account in AD and also run the command "netdom.exe resetpwd /s:<server> /ud:<user> /pd:*"

  • Hi Tssreejesh,

    The error may show if the secure channel between the computer account and domain controller is broken.

    If it doesn't worl after reset the account, you could  delete the existing computer account in Server Manager, recreate the computer account, synchronize the domain, and then on the server rejoin the domain.

  • I tried to reset through command prompt after that also couldn't able to login same error coming "trust relationship " but the password had reset in dc once I run this command
