ISCSI Target with Nano server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have set up a failover cluster using Nano server as the bare bones hyper v host (admittedly it is a VM within hyper v on my windows 10 computer, don't think it has anything to do with this). IP address and domain join are all fine (except errors to do with performance monitoring using remote server manager) I cannot seem to initiate a iSCSI initiation with the file server (2016 iSCSI target). If I install hyper v server I can hit it no problems using iscsicpl and then create the CSV. Does anyone know if iSCSI initiator is as of yet supported or if I am missing something as powershell: connect-iscsitarget is not there?

    Thank you all in advance

  • I cannot get any if the iSCSI cmdlets to be recognized either with Server Nano TP3.  Were you able to resolve this issue?

  • Unfortunately not, I am presuming that this is not supported as I cannot find anything else on the web about iSCSI and Server Nano.  Hopefully it will be included with the final release

  • Hi,

Unfortunately it is not available on Nano Server yet, it didn't make if for Technical Preview 4. It is on the roadmap for Windows Server 2016.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  • in nano server techinal preview 5  iSCSI is accessable by storage package. You can connect iSCSI targets by cmdlet connect-iscsitarget. to use MPIO for iSCSI you must use special script https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt613428.aspx.
