Problems with kdump in Red Hat 6.0 with linuxIC 3.2. RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have the following cenario.

In some moments the Linux virtual machines loses their connections with the disc and generates a filesystem in read-only mode, thus all system stays unstable ( processes can't write status, logs etc... ) . To solve this in Red Hat 5.0 we configure the file system parameters with tune2fs to generate panic on system ( tune2fs -e panic <linux_device> ) and enable the kernel feature that in face to a kernel panic the S.O. will reboot automatically ( /proc/sys/kernel/panic ).

In Red Hat 6.0 this procedure doesn't work, the Linux system trying to reboots, but crash reloading microsoft hyper-v modules. We contact the Red Hat and doesn't work too, they said that don't know how to solve this problem.

Somebody has passing to this problem too??

  • I also experienced similar problem with CentOS 6.2 and Integration Services 3.2. My filesystem goes to read-only mode. This is happening approx. once a week.
