Microsoft CA and Web Enrollment RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having an issue getting the templates in the CA manager to show in the web enrollment. I have tried multiple solutions and none of them work. The only templates that will show is User and Basic EFS. The CA has been up and running long before I installed the web enrollment portion which I just actually installed. I cannot figure out why the templates wont show. Can anyone give me some guidance here? Its server 2012 r2.

What prompted this is I am trying to get a cert signed from portecle which I am using to create a cert store to be used with Jira. I exported the cert I created which only exports in .csr, .p10 and .pem which it seems none of them microsoft CA wants to read. Any help with any of it would be greatly appreciated.

  • From the Certificate Authority snap-in, hover over Certificate Templates, right click, select New | Certificate Template to Issue and choose the template you've created.

Check the subject name and ensure the templates have the supply in request radio button set and enrollment permissions are set correctly, i.e. the web server hosting the enrollment authrority has read and enrol.

  • Thats what I am doing. The web server, the CA and the DC are all the same machine. I still cant get the templates to show. Would there be any reasons the web server isnt actually connecting to the CA?
