SRIOV - Enable Mac Address Spoofing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Folks,

I'm trying to send packets over an SRIOV interface from virtual interfaces with MAC addresses different from the one assigned by hyperV. While I am able to reach my gateway via the VF interface on the VM, I see that packets arent transmitted out the NIC while using virtual interfaces (with a different MAC address) that are associated with this VF.

According to this documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/network/nic-switches the SRIOV vendors require to implement a bridge at the NIC known as the NIC Switch. But I cant seem to find any powershell command to enable allowing MAC address Spoofing on this.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/network/setting-the-parameters-of-a-nic-switch

    Has anyone tried this before?

Additional Information: Enabling Mac spoofing on the VM settings will bypass SRIOV and use the hyperV switch instead. No VF is assigned to the VM in this case, so this is not a feasible solution.
