Can't install Hyper-V on Server Core 2008 R2 - feature unknown RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've followed all the documentation I can find on the Internet, but cannot seem to get pass the point of installing Hyper-V on Windows Server Core 2008 R2.  Based on the article below, I ran the "Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:Microsoft-Hyper-V " command.  I'm getting an error that Microsoft-Hyper-V is an unknown feature.  I did a /get-features and did not see it on the list.  Am I missing something fundamental?

Taking a step back, I have the 180-day eval installed.  When I login, the desktop says that I have Windows Web Server 2008 R2 Build 7600.  I don't know if that makes a difference, but can anyone shine some light on this?  Much appreciated.
