Does Services for NFS Client support v4 ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have a file storage server (NetApp) running a shared NFSv4, That file storage has a unique Operation System, it is not linux/windows, so as long they dont enable NFSv4.1 i am stuck with NFSv4.

I am looking for NFSv4 client for windows, so i could browse/list the files in the NFSv4 share (with or without the krb5 authentication), This mean i need to mount that folder and that browse it..

    What are my options ?

    I am familiar with articles:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj574143

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj592688

They are not good, since they mention nothing about NFSv4.

    Thanks alot

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your post.

According to my research, on Windows Server 2008, you can use Services for NFS with UNIX computers which are running NFS client or server software which complies with version 2 or version 3 of the NFS protocol. On Windows Server 2012 and later, you can use NFS Version 4.1 Protocol Specification.

I think the link you listed describes clearly about how to deploy Network File System, I have a little confused about the sentence "they mention nothing about NFSv4", would you please help to explain it?
