Windows Media Player SDK Question RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi folks,

I am an ex-Microsoft engineer working on a Windows app (slowhand.com) that allows the user to import guitar videos from Youtube/Vimeo and slowdown the video while maintaining audio pitch. Currently, this functionality is achieved by splitting the video and audio stream into a video-only and audio-only file using the FFMpeg tool.

Question: Does Windows have native SDK support to slowdown the video while keeping audio pitch in sync without splitting the stream into a separate audio & video file?  MacOS has SDK support for this functionality using AVKit. Does the Windows Media Player SDK or any third-party SDK have similar support?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

  • By ex-Microsoft engineer I meant I was an employee of Microsoft and part of the Windows Core OS division and Windows 7 engineering team.
