Raid 1+0 on 100Mo disks? Windows Server 2012 RRS feed

  • I have a VM running Windows Server 2012 R2, I added 6 disks of 100Mo each. How can I get them on RAID 10 setting ?

  • What will your VM be used for? Be an SQL server or others.

    Raid-10 generally gives the best performance but  there are other considerations - Can the system and Raid controller keep up with the theoretical throughput? Will your network be the bottleneck?  If so I'd go Raid-5 as it will take few disks to get you to the size you need.
