Win10 does not get the computer policy in the 2016 domain group policy. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Win10 does not get the computer policy in the 2016 domain group policy.

I then use windows2016 as a domain controller.

At the same time use win7 win10 terminal computer.

Some group policies are configured in the domain control.

Use the same account to log in to different computers belonging to different operating systems of the same OU.

The win7 group policy can be obtained. According to the OU to decide whether it will take effect.

The win10 group policy only obtains the user policy in the group policy, and cannot obtain the computer policy. Even the default Default Domain Policy is included.

    Sorry, my English is poor.

  • please check the delegation. Perhaps the permisson is missconfigured.

    Use gpresult for debugging.

According to the settings group policy can´t be updated using the gpupdate command. Pleaese restart your Computer in order to obtain a new list of applied Group Policies.

  • Hello,

Thank you for posting in our forum.

According to your description, we have a domain with a domain functional level of 2016, with win2016 DC, and win7/win10 clients in the domain. Win7 and win10 clients are in the same OU.

In order to resolve the issue more efficiently, would you please help collect the information below?
1.What group policies are we configured?

2.How do you judge that win10 only has a policy under user configuration, and there is no policy under computer configuration?

3.Please refresh the policy on win10 (run "gpupdate /force" in the cmd )and generate gpresult.html.

Please generate result.html according to the following and check if the policy under the computer configuration is applied.
(1)Logon one client with domain user account.
(2)Create a new folder in C drive named Folder.
(3)Open CMD, type gpresult /h C:\Folder\report.html and click Enter.
(4)Open report file to check this folder redirection under Computer Configuration.

    Appreciate your patience.

    Best regards,
    Cynthia

  • Hello,

Please check that you don't have replication problems and that your PDC emulator is reachable.

Have you tried running the gpupdate /force command on the DC and the client computer and check the result?

    Appreciate your patience.

    Best regards,
    Cynthia
