Sharepoint 2013 automating the CU patching RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to automate the patching of SharePoint?

I have been told SharePoint 2013 does not have a way to automate the patching.

just curious Does the SPS O365 and or SharePoint 2019 On-Prem/Cloud hybrid have a way to automate?( I know outside of this forum, just curious).

But I am looking to make sure there is no way to automate the patching of SharePoint 2013. Boss and his boss keep asking..

  • Just making sure are you talking about zero down time patching or automation ? zero down patching not possible in SharePoint 2013 and for Automation check below article powershell code will help you to automate the process:

  • It's hard to guess, that depends on how big your SharePoint farm is, and the content databases you have in your farm.

  • Hi,

It depends on your configuration for the farm for long or short the patching will take, with or without running the code.

Here is another script from Trevor Seward for your reference:

    Automated Remote SharePoint Patch Management.
