Windows Media Services playable on Android phones

  • I'm running a Windows Media Services server that has some streams on it. Now i'm not able to listen them on an Android Phone. Is there a plugin for Windows Media Services so it will be able to stream also to an Android phone?

Or should i search for a App on the Android to play them?

  • This would have to be a plugin that you install on the phone.

  • Microsoft does not provide one, but it is possible that a third party does.

  • Windows Media Services has a legacy of over 10 years.  During that time Windows Media Player was the primary client.  Microsoft's future direction for streaming is IIS Media Services and Smooth Streaming.  Already this newer platform supports iOS clients.  We're definitely looking at other clients as well.
