Windows Server 2003 R2 Set Up as Web Host

    Question

  • The above is my hardware configuration and I am running Windows Server 2003 R2 operating system.  All of my computers have wireless network capability and I really want to keep the Server connected directely to the ATT Wireless Modem.  I have been told that the ATT Wireless Modem does not provide a Static IP Address.  However, this model indicates it provides a "Fixed IP Address" with DHCP mode.

I have set up my IP Addresses at 192.168.1.50 on both the ATT Modem with "Fixed IP Address" and on the Server TCP/IP.

I am primarily using the Belkin Wireless Router as a range extender for whole house coverage.  I can disconnect if necessary or recommended.  My Questions:

    1.  Will the above configuration allow me to us my server as a web hosting server with security?

    2.  If not, what changes in hardware connections would you recommend?
