VDS Service Keeps Stopping

  • Hello,

I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2 Core, all firewall settings disabled, remote management has been turned on.  I can RDP and run remote administration tools (ie services, logs, etc).

I'm trying to access Disk Management, when I click on "Disk Management" it starts spinning its wheels to access it, about 20 secs later, it fails.   It says:  The RPC server is unavailable.  I have made sure that Virtual Disk (vds) service is started and set to autostart.  The service is running until I try to access Disk Management from my workstation.

BTW, firewall is also turned off on my workstation.  All other remote tools seem to be working fine.

    Any ideas anybody?
