Folder Redirection with Windows Server 2008 r2 and Windows XP

    Question

  • I'm trying to make a Folder Redirection GPO work on a Windows Server 2008 r2 server and a Windows XP Host.

    It's redirecting files to \\Server\UserPriv

It redirects files on the Desktop, no problem, but won't redirect the files in My Documents. The properties of both look the same -- Basic, create a folder, \\Server\UserPriv and all three boxes checked under Settings. Leave the folder is selected.

    I get the following errors:

    Event ID 112

Failed to perform redirection of folder My Documents.

The files for the redirected folder could not be moved to the new location.

The folder is configured to be redirected to <\\Server\UserPriv\%USERNAME%\My Documents>.  Files were being moved from <C:\Documents and Settings\G-Test2\My Documents> to <\\Server\UserPriv\G-Test2\My Documents>.

The following error occurred while copying <C:\Documents and Settings\G-Test2\My Documents\desktop.ini> to <\\Server\UserPriv\G-Test2\My Documents\desktop.ini>:

The security descriptor structure is invalid.

    Any ideas?
