How to check if WSUS 3.0 is on SP2
Question
-
Hello all,
I have a Windows 2003 SP2 32bit machine with WSUS installed. How do I check if it's WSUS SP2? When I open it and select help, help about it says version: 3.2.7600.226. Does this mean it's on SP2? The microsoft management console says srv03sp2-service pack 2.
Thanks

I applied both KB2720211 and KB2734608 but the build number still reads 3.2.7600.226, after 2 reboots. What gives?
Have a look at the Startpage from WSUS, the right red frame will show

You are correct : server version shown there is .256, while Help > About shows .226. Now we need another patch to fix patch versions :-)
The .226 ist the version from the MMC. ;)

Nope, that's a long standing 'bug' in how products are installed to the MMC, versus how they are patched once existant.
And, since the MMC is functionally deprecated (if not actually officially)... don't count on that issue ever being fixed.

For the record, the April 2013 update bumps the version to 3.2.7600.262 (not in Help/About, of course).
For anyone wanting to actually install it successfully, be sure to read the July 11, 2013 comment from "vsu_" or you stand little chance of success.
