  • Hi Edgar_O,

1.Based on my experience, after a task sequence has already run on a certain machine, it will auto set a flag to prevent the task sequence deployment from rerunning. So that the machine will not be reimaged until you select the available task sequence deployment manually. Please refer to:
How to rerun a Task Sequence in ConfigMgr using PowerShell

2.It's recommended that we remove the computers from the OSD collection after a successful OS deployment using a status filter rule to avoid reinstalling an existing computer. For more detailed information, please refer to:
Updated: Remove a computer from a Collection when OSD Task Sequence is completed

    3. We can also add a condition, such as MAC address, to the task sequence or deploy the task sequence to a dynamic collections to avoid a certain machine from being reimaged. Please refer to:
    Task sequence Step condition
How to Create a Dynamic Collection

Hope my answer could help you. Thanks for your time.

    Best regards,
    Simon Ren

  • In addition to Simon's notes, the main point is that no systems can be re-imaged unless you create a deployment that targets them. Thus, don't create any deployments that target the systems that you don't want re-imaged. More or less what Simon wrote in his second bullet point.
