Unable to RDP to a system after reboot. RRS feed

  • Over the past year I have had several servers that I am not ablet remote to after a reboot. I need to reboot a 2nd time be for I can connect. The services on the server are running and I am able to ping it. If I connect a monitor, mouse and keyboard and it was working ok. Has anyone seen this.

  • What is the reason for the reboot? Did you change something and reboot for the change to take effect? I have de-installed services that require a reboot and then additional interaction before the de-installation is complete. Prior to full completion of the task, I need to console in or if VM, access the server from the Infrastructure client.

  • There are physical servers.  The application owner does a weekly reboot.

  • I have seen such behaviour when MS Updates (or other applications) are installed within an RDP session, follwed by the reboot. After a second reboot the machine is reachable again. Is this the case in your infrastructure?
