Dual Time Zone Configration on Windows server RRS feed

  • Hello

    I have question can Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 server can configure to dual time zone  or multiple time zone

    Please let us know is there a possiblity and how this can be achived.. or is there any limitation only to set to one time zone ?

    Background : Database is running on windows server and access from two diffrent countrys with diffrent time zone

    Please let us know if there is any solution

    Only one time zone can be configured on one server. The specific time zone configured on a computer should not impact its communication with another computer in the different time zone. What’s your problem exactly.

  • Any computer can have only one time zone configured. However, most databases save times in UTC, to be time zone agnostic. Times are converted from the time zone of the computer where the record is created, into UTC before saved in the database, even if the database is in another time zone. That makes it a big problem if a machine has more than one time zone. The scenario you describe is common. It should not be a problem.
