Licensing Window Server 2016 Enterprise

Question

Hello
Just a quick question to clearify an issue on licensing.
We want to utilize AWMA for our future VMs on Windows Server 2016 Enterprise, but the host itself needs to be activated.
One way would be a MAK key another way would be to activate it against an internal KMS server.
These are the 2 ways to unlock the "unlimited VMs" on our Hyper-V 2016 Enterprise server?
