Error: 'Element not found.' (0x80070490).

  • Server system with 12 GB RAM en 1TB disk running Hyper-V Server 2008 R2, downloaded recently. Server is in workgroup

Hyper-V server configured for remote management.

Trying to create and install a new Windows 2008 server as VM guest system.

I was able to create a new (empty) virtual machine (3GB RAM and 60GB disk).

After linking an DVD ISO image to the DVD drive I start the VM.

    Then I get a message:

"An error occurred while attempting to start the selected virtual machine(s).

Could not initialize machine remoting system. Error: 'Element not found.' (0x80070490).

Could not find a usable certificate. Error: 'Element not found.' (0x80070490).

    /../ "

    Full detail below

After stop/start of the vmms services, the VM booted...

    Anyone seen this before?

What's the reason for this? Thought it was fixed by KB967902.
