Domain controller not demoted correctly

  • A previous system admin has not demoted one of the internal domain controllers correctly. What they probably did was migrate AD by first adding a domain controller to the domain with w2k3 and then shut down the old small business server DC. I have already corrected some issues in DNS and DHCP (it was still listed in the list of authorized servers for example...) When I put wireshark on one of my interfaces, I can still see broadcasts (name lookups) from our current domain controller to the old one (CTSBS1).

You can see that it does name queries for other machines as well. Now how can I find why it does these queries and thus what is wrong?
