MPR fails on *.XmlSerializers.dll has no Company Name / Product Name RRS feed

  • Question

  • By running the MPR-test tool on our solution, we fail test 11"Did the application binaries have valid file version information?". Totally agree that versioninfo should be there. But we fail on the auto-generated serializers-dll's...

    e.g.
C:\Program Files (x86)\OurCompany\OurSolution\OurDLL.XmlSerializers.dll does not have a valid "Company name" property.
C:\Program Files (x86)\OurCompany\OurSolution\OurDLL.XmlSerializers.dll does not have a valid "Product name" property.

This file is generated from OurDLL.dll which uses XmlSerialization and does have valid fileversion-information. And is signed, but not strong-named (uptill we don't need this).

And yes, tried to switch the generation of in the project, worked for one, but not for the website(s). Whatever value the setting has, the serializer is generated.

Can we get a waiver for this issue?
