  • Hi Abhilash.S,

Here is an article on similar scenario for your reference:

"TypeError: Unable to get property '{GUID}' of undefined or null reference" on Access Request list.

According to the article, the error is possible to be caused by deletion of the system list "Access Requests".

You can run the provided PowerShell script to remove relevant web properties and then send an access request again to see the result.

  • Hi Abhilash,

Does it work if you switch to another site/site collection?

Consider switching off “Allow access requests ” via Site Permissions page and then turn it on again.

    Best regards,

  • Yes, it is working in another subsite inside same site collection.

  • Permissions reset for Access requests

The solution was to re-run the original permissions setup of the site, and specify the new Site Owners group as the Owners of the site. To get there, construct a URL like this:

    http[s]://[HostName]/Sites/[Path-To-Site]/_layouts/15/permsetup.aspx
This will open up the groups for the site. Click OK.

Once you've re-defined the default owners group in PermSetup.aspx, your new Site Owners group will be able to manage access requests.

  • Hi Abhilash,

It seems that the Access Requests list has been broken and has trouble repairing itself.

Have you spotted any other error message in System Event Viewer or ULS logs that might be related/helpful to this issue?

    Best regards,

    Chelsea Wu
