Unable to move data from one drive to another drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone,

I am using DPM 2016 1607 version. It has two drives and recently both drives were filled so I had added a new drive in the DPM. Now I am unable to data from filled to empty one. (I am moving the data through Move Disk Storage command available when we right click any datasource).

    Error -

Error 40003: The storage involving the current operation could not be read from or written to.
Recommended action: Ensure that the storage is healthy, mounted, not in use by other processes, and has enough free space for this operation, and then retry the operation.

Is there any way i can move data to newly added drive. or can group all three drives to make a single entity and use with DPM.

I have tons of Disk 51 Warnings

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk4\DR1515 during a paging operation.

When I checked disk management didn't find any disk with number 4.

    Thanks

    Arun Kumar

  • It shouldn’t need any free disk space to move the data to another drive.

The DpmSync -ReallocateReplica simply reallocates missing replica volumes, it probably won’t help you here.

Well you have two ways of doing this, from the GUI and PowerShell, there’s no other way.

You can try the workaround on Matej’s blog which I linked earlier.
