  • Hi, you cannot easily calculate "total no of License used".

If your KMS server has a long history available in the event logs on the server, you may be able to export the event log data, say, into Excel, and then analyse the data by the ClientID (CMID). This assumes you have also kept records of which computers have entered the company, and which computers have left the company.

This article may help explain further how to understand the event log entries:

You may be able to use the VAMT utility to better purpose:

KMS server will activate an unlimited number of KMSclients. KMS does not maintain a total count.

  • Hello,
You may want to look at this link as well
Event ID 12290 on the KMS Host in the KMS Host Event log.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff793440.aspx
Use the ACTID field to determine the license ( this tells you which product and which edition)

The event 12290 are the records of the machines that contacted the KMS host, you will also see renew requests in this list.
If a machine was sysprepped with generalize or if the machine was rearmed, it generates a unique CMID.

This is simply a list of the machines that contacted the KMS host, the actual activation takes place on the client machine, the host simply enables the client to be able to activate, it doesn't know whether the client activates or not.
