  • Hmm. It is going to be a tricky one

    Suggestion:-1

You can create B.com and C.com accounts in A.com. In this way A.com will be resource forest and B.com/c.com will act as user forest. In this way B.com and C.com's AD accounts will be added as disabled accounts in A.com AD forest

Then you will add B.com and C.com SIP domains in existing A.com SFB topology.  Followed by Certs and all the stuff that is required to set up SFB server

    Suggestion:-2

If you dont want to migrate any of the existing data of B.com & C.com SFB users, then simply provision there SFB access directly on O365. In this case you will have to add B.com and C.com SIP addresses directly on O365 and point DNS records to O365 and decom on prem set up

Other than this i cant think of any better solution. Hope someone else will have anything else to share/add

  • With the use of AADConnect you can sync multiple AD forest to O365

So B.com and C.com users will get synced to O365 using ADDConnect tool. So user provisioning wil not be an issue for you

Rest i think you have figured it out

So in general for B.com and C.com below wil help:-

    1. Add Company B's domain and C domain in Office 365.

    2. Set up Skype relevant records (Lyncdiscover and others) to point directly to Skype for Business Online instead of pointing to the on-premises reverse proxy.

    3. Assign Skype for Business licenses to all Company B users to enable them for Skype for Business Online.

  • All 3 domains are in same forest?if yes then there wont be any issue on making hybrid, only thing you need to do the shared address space configuration for all the sip domains.

Do you have separate Skype infrastructure for each domains?

  • Hi Jaykumar & Alice Wang,

    Thanks for your reply.

it's multi forest, 3 domains have 2 way trust enabled.

3 domains have Skype for Business 2015 infrastructure .

    Customer purchased tenant for A.com.

in this scenario is it possible to setup Hybrid if it is not possible please let us know the best practice .

    Thanks & Regards

  • Hello Weera,

It is not possible to set up hybrid when you have three different SFB deployment

    • For either a single user forest or multiple user forest deployment, there must be a single deployment of Skype for Business Server

Above article wil help you understand the requirements of setting up hybrid with single or multiple AD forest

If you had multiple AD forest and a single SFB server, then yes it was possible to set up hybrid with office 365. Where the AD forest users would have been synced using AADConnect tool

  • Hi Akabe,

    it's really valuable info .

i already working with your Suggestion 2 but i did not find any tech net articles for this, that's why i am in big confusion. Now it's clear.

    Execution Plan :

Once Hybrid setup completed with A.com , i am going to add B.com and c.com domains in to office 365 tenant .

i will update the SRV records for this 2 domains. (both domains SRV records will point to A.com edge server)

later as per my thought i can move the users from B.com and c.com to office 365  after this i will de-commission the on premises S4B servers (b.com & c.com) .

correct me if my though was wrong. if you have any related links please share .

    Thanks & Regards
