Hello,
of for whatever reason you need separate forests in your company and do not have the option for other designs, hardware, locations etc.

You can use single domain multiple site architecture or multiple domain as per business requirement.
One best practice is to try and limit the number of domains.I would recommend to have single domain multiple site architecture.Create OU to manage the departments and assign appropiate delegation control.Avoid having a multi-domain.
Make all the DCs global catalogs and also install DNS role on it.
Also ensure you have altleast two DC in the environment for redanduncy.

Not sure which diagram you are talking about here.
Site is a global configuration for entire forest. You can have multiple domains/DCs in the same site.

You can have multiple domain in the same subnet/site and there is no issue. Domain joined machine uses srv records in DNS to locate the DC using mechanism called dclocator process. So, there is no issue using multiple domain in the same subnet. The scenario can be multiple business unit at the same location and each group of users login to different domain. You can use same subnet for the multiple domain but mostly different subnet is used.

As stated earlier, you can have multiple domain DC deployed into single site or subnet.
