DHCP remote management issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone,

I have a DHCP server with IP address is 192.168.0.10 and I have RAT installed on a Windows 7 PC for remote administration.

I have managed the DHCP server role fine over last month but this morning I cannot. When I connect to the DHCP authorized server (192.168.0.10) on my windows 7 PC it has a little red icon on the server. I think it means the server is unauthorized.

I have checked the DHCP server and it is definitely authorized (we only have one DHCP server) and I have tried to restart the server but still have the red icon on the server.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Ning Liu

  • Actually depending on whether it is a red dot with a "-" or an "X" it means the users is not authorized to manage the service, or the DHCP service has lost its connection to the server:

Might you as the user have changed your password?

  • Hello Rob,

Thanks for your reply and the link, The red dot is "-" which it means the user is not authorized as you suggested.

I will check out my user account permission later.

    Thanks.
