Non Windows RDP Client cannot connect to RDP Server Farm RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are running an RDP Server Farm on Azure with a Gateway, Connection Broker Host, and Round Robin Load Balancing. Windows clients are connecting great with an .RDP file that contains "loadbalanceinfo:s:xxx".

Recently, we've had users request connecting through Linux and iOS. We tried using many RDP clients but couldn't get any of them to work because of the Load Balancing. We were able to use an endpoint to make them connect directly to one rdp machine but now they are going around the load balancing which defeats the purpose. We really want them to go through the Host and use Load Balancing

Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can get this working? Maybe a client that supports connecting to a Azure RDP farm as mstsc does? Maybe a gateway of some sort that will translate the connection to a Load Balance connection? Something else we are missing totally?

  • Hi,

According to your description, RDP clients are not able to connect to RD Session Hosts through RD Connection Broker, but able to connect to each Session Host by downloading .rdp file which directly points to Session Host, is that correct?

I suggest you check terminal services related logs on each terminal servers to see whether any related message was logged, which can be found under:

Event Viewer -> Applications and Services Logs\ Microsoft\ Windows.

    Best Regards,

    Amy
