Hyper-V RemoteFX vGPU performance RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have to buy new computers for my company. It's a small company (8~ workstations) and I was thinking about a virtualized solution. I read a lot about virtualization but I still have a lot of questions.

Specifically, how does RemoteFX vGPU work on Hyper-V 2012? From what I read, vGPU allows to share the same GPU for multiple concurrent virtual machines. What kind of graphics card do I need to support this? How's performance compared to using a dedicated video card? What kind of applications support this and what kind of limitations are there? How does this differ from the kind of vGPU that nVidia offers with GRID K1 and K2 cards?

I was looking for more information on the internet (or YouTube performance videos) but I couldn't find much... thanks
