Some users has multiple RDP CALs in our license server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We're having some trouble with our license server, some users has multiple RDP CALs and using more than 1 license, 1 for each capital letter-lower case change in the name when creating the RDP connection, for example, user1 has 4 licenses (user1, User1,USER1, useR1).

    Can you help us?

  • hi,
1 which type problematical rds cal do you use now? Is it rds per user cal or rds per device cal ?
if it is rds per device cal , when the user1 use different device to remote access session host server, each device will consume 1 rds per device cal .
for example :user1 use these devices (include 1 pc ,1 android ,1 iPhone, 1 windows phone),so he will consume 4 rds per device cals.

  • hi,
for this condition ,I think you need to rebuild the RD Licensing Database then check if the problem persist.
    Rebuild the RD Licensing Database
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2008-R2-and-2008/dd851428(v%3dws.11)

if there is any RDS cal can not be enrolled ,we can Locate the Microsoft Clearinghouse Telephone Number to solve your issue.
