  • Question

  • Hello, I have Hyper-V cluster 2016 2 node and after power drop out on both nodes are disk offline only whitnes quorum is online. All iSCSI connection are online on both nodes. If I try set to online:

Set-Disk : The specified object is managed by the Microsoft Failover Clustering component. The disk must be in cluster
maintenance mode and the cluster resource status must be online to perform this operation.

In Cluster Manager is both node in state paused and disk offline. Turn On and Turn Off maintenance mode are grayed. How to bring disks to online state?

  • Hi,

Since the disks are part of the Failover Cluster, you should use the Failover Cluster Manager PowerShell cmdlets, if you cannot do it within the GUI.

    Use the following cmdlets:

    Get-ClusterResource

Use the above cmdlet to get all the available cluster resources, this helps you identify the disk.

    Start-ClusterResource

Use the above cmdlet to set a cluster resource online.

    Example:

    Start-ClusterResource -Name "Cluster Disk 4"

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • Have you tried to bring both cluster nodes Online from the Paused state, then try to bring the cluster disks online?
