Failed to change state error RRS feed

  • Hello, I've been trying to use Hyper V to mess around with Linux and while attempting to make a new Virtual Machine i got this error (see photo attachment). I've tried restarting and changing switches but nothing ive tried works. Does anyone know to fix this? Any help is appreciated

  • I'd check here or with manufacturer that hardware is supported.

    also check prerequisites are met and enabled on hardware.

  • No photo attached.

    What distro of Linux are you using.  Most of the popular ones have everything you need for Hyper-V included.

    This error can occur if you're using the same ISO on multiple VMs.

    Also for Linux, try using a generation 1 VM.
