WSUS Computers cannot change membership

    Question

  • I have setup WSUS, all computers are under 'Unassigned Computers' (default), I have created new groups, but I am unable to change the membersip of the computers when right clickong the required computer. The selection is 'greyed out'......and ideas????

  • Sounds like you have checked the box "Use group policy..." on the Options | Computers page of the WSUS console.

  • I found 2 other things:

    - You cannot change the cumputers membership when you are located other than "WSUS CONSOLE\COMPUTERS\ALL COMPUTERS"

    * If you have more than one WSUS server (like one in the main office connected to MS Servers and than others in branch office connected with the server in the main office, so those computers from branch office should to be managed trough their respective WSUS server...
