  • In the WSUS 3.0 console, security updates and critical updates are failing to download. When I checked the event viewer, event ID 364 is there. This is the event description.

Content file download failed. Reason: The client does not have sufficient access rights to the requested server object.

Source File: /msdownload/update/v3-19990518/cabpool/windowsserver2003-kb917159-x86-enu_95e39a9f4fe1396962cc64c0dfd8372503bf9973.exe Destination File: D:\WSUS\WsusContent\73\95E39A9F4FE1396962CC64C0DFD8372503BF9973.exe.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

When I opened the services.mmc and checked the logon name for the service Update Service, it is NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService.

But all clients get MS Office updates but no Windows updates. Any idea why this happen?

    Thanks

You need to grant READ access on DRIVE D: to the NT AUTHORITY\Network Service account
