Cross Domain DFS-Replication Question RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all

    Setup\scenario is as follows:

    - Forest root domain (forestroot.company.com) which is running at Windows Server 2008 R2 Functional Level. All Domain Controllers are at site A.
    - Production Domain in the same forest and on running at Windows Server 2008 R2 Functional Level (domain.company.com). All Domain Controllers are at site A.
    - 2008 R2 Forest Functional Level

We are considering creating a child resource domain child.domain.company.com at site B and there may be requirement to replicate data between file servers in each domain. Will it be possible to replicate data using DFS-R between fileserver1.domain.com and fileserver1.child.domain.com?

    Thanks as always.

<!---->I think the aboub FAQ can address your concern.

Must members of a replication group reside in the same domain?

No. Replication groups can span across domains within a single forest but not across different forests.

    Hope it helps.
