Can you update Macromedia Flash, and Adobe products through WSUS?

    Question

  • Can you update Macromedia Flash, and Adobe products through WSUS?

I am using a software that needs the lastest flash, etc., but to go to all of the pc's to install would be crazy.  I have so far had to go to each machine individually, and install flash 10.1.

    thanks

    Not natively.

However, you can program against the WSUS API to deploy 3rd party products (not a Trival task, btw,),

Or, more likely, you can purchase a 3rd party add-on product that provides the capability,

Or, as Microsoft would prefer, you can buy a System Center product (Essentials or ConfigMgr), but you'll still have to create, subscribe, or purchase the content to go with it.

In an earlier thread, I wrote a short synopsis of the options that I'm currently aware of.

  • Another option, I've been working on such a program which uses the WSUS API and have released it under an OSS license.  You'll find source and binaries here: http://www.localupdatepublisher.com
