  • If you have backup then you can restore the same from backup or If volume copy shadow is configured then you can use the same. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771305.aspx

If the backup is not configured then you need to use third party software to restore the same.

Without prior backup or restore enabled on the drive/folders, its not possible to recover the deleted files from built-in tools available in the windows. I have used stellar tool & its really a good tool.

  • Hi,

Have you enabled Volume Shadow Copy Services on that shared folder? If yes than you are able to recover other wise as i know this is not possible to recover shared folder without any third party tools.

  • Hello,

if you don't have a backup from the file server folders there is NO way without using recovery software. Keep in mind that content from mapped drives is immediately deleted and not moved to a recycle bin.

As this doesn't belong to Directory services please ask additional questions about this in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winservergen/threads or http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/windowsbackup/threads

  • Hi,

Agree with others. If you have a backup (exists on an external disk or in a remote shared folder), then you can follow this:
