Merge hardrive partitions on OS windows 2003 sever.

    Question

  • I i would like to have any suggestions on what software i can use. at the moment i have windows Server 2003 that im running and i would like to merge partition without reinstalling Windows 2003 server.

    Any suggestions

  • Hi,

    Diskpart could be used to merge partitions with some limitations:

    "Use the extend command to cause the current in-focus volume to be extended into contiguous unallocated space. The unallocated space must follow (it must be of higher sector offset than) the in-focus partition. The intended use of this command is to grow an existing basic data partition into newly created space on an extended hardware Raid logical unit number (LUN)"

    You may have to use third party tool if the above requirement is not met.

    When you say merge is it because you dont want any dataloss or what is it you want?

    If you just want to merge, with no worries on the data.
    Use diskpart from cmd, here is "a little" on the matter:

  • Merge two partitions for windows server 2003 with Partition Wizard Server Edition. Partition Wizard Server Edition can merge two partitions easily.
