Domain controllers with different OS languages

    Question

  • Hello,
I would like to promote a WIN2003 SRV [italian version] server to Domain controller role.
Currently I have in my domain two WIN2003 [english version] domain controllers.
I am wondering if having a DC in a different language can cause some troubles.
    Thanks!

  • Hello,

No, normally it will cause no issue.

You can promote your Italian server to a DC in your environment.

  • hi there,

Tim is correct, MUI is specific to application layer and it does hamper the functionality of the OS , they only convert the strings to approrpriate language for user ease.

Installation of applications , server roles , installation of softwares doesnt have any problems.
